Paneer & Spinach Momos with Beetroot Dip

Ingredients

For the Momos Dough:

  • Whole wheat flour / Maida – 2 cups

  • Salt – a pinch

  • Water – as required

For the Filling:

  • Paneer (cottage cheese), crumbled – 200 g

  • Spinach (palak), finely chopped – 1 cup

  • Onion, finely chopped – 1 medium

  • Garlic – 4 cloves

  • Ginger – 1-inch piece

  • Green chili – 1

  • Oil – 1 tbsp

  • Salt & black pepper – to taste

For the Beetroot Dip:

  • Beetroot – 1 large (boiled/roasted)

  • Curd (dahi) – ½ cup

  • Garlic – 2 cloves

  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp

  • Salt – to taste

Method

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  • Mix flour and salt, add water gradually, and knead into a soft dough.

  • Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.

Step 2: Cook the Filling

  • Heat oil in a pan, sauté garlic, onion, chili, and ginger.

  • Add spinach and cook till wilted.

  • Mix in crumbled paneer, salt, and pepper. Let it cool.

Step 3: Shape the Momos

  • Roll out small discs from the dough.

  • Add filling in the center, fold, and pleat into momos.

Step 4: Steam

  • Place momos in a greased steamer.

  • Steam for 10–12 minutes until glossy and cooked.

Step 5: Make the Beetroot Dip

  • Blend beetroot, curd, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt into a creamy dip.
